Elders

Ricardo Bonner

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Ricardo moved to Union, MO to attend Junior College for basketball before transferring to Washburn University. A standout college athlete, Ricardo was bound for professional ball. However, his life went through a big change once he became a Christian. About fifteen years ago, he felt a call to ministry. Although a believer for many years, he felt as though he was just going through the motions and running from God. But he is finding his call now, as Ricardo is a gifted teacher and preacher of God’s Word. Professionally, he is a Field Training Coordinator for the Shawnee County Juvenile Detention Center, called to minister to youth. Ricardo says, “I recognize God’s call on my life and am willing to be used wherever He wants me in His church.” One of our newest elders at HHCC, we are looking forward to seeing what all Ricardo is called to do here.

Don Christian

Don Christian and his wife, Nancy, live in Tecumseh. They have a son, Andrew and a daughter, Amy, and have seven grandchildren. Don is retired from long career in Pharmaceuticals and working part time with Stormont Vail Hospital. Don enjoys gardening, beekeeping, tinkering on their "farm" and loves studying God's word. One of his spiritual gifts is teaching and he teaches "The Pathfinders" class at 8:30AM Sunday mornings and leads a Life Together Small Group on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Highland Heights is family!

Curtis and his wife, Terri, live in Auburn. They are parents to Erin, Ryan, Caleb, and Colby. Erin and Ryan and their spouses are parents to their three grandchildren. Caleb is married and expecting their first child (and grandchild #4). Colby is currently attending college. Both Curtis and Terri teach at Heritage Christian School. Before teaching, Curtis had a background in TV production, sales, and retail management. One of Curtis' spiritual gifts is teaching. He teaches the Jr/Sr high class at 8:30 AM on Sunday mornings. Curtis is also very in tune with the Christian music world and a resource to the Worship Purpose Team. He also loves to read and study God's word and theology. He’s passionate about the Christian worldview, apologetics, and reformed doctrine.
