Patrick Garlock (Executive Pastor)

Pastor Patrick started his time with HHCC in March of 2017, when he accepted the position of Associate Pastor. Since January of 2018, he has been our Executive Pastor. Pastor makes it a priority to expository preach (this is the method of teaching verse by verse.) He and the elders are leading many men and women in their course studies of becoming adapted into bi-vocational ministry (working a regular job and serving in the church). Pastor Patrick also uses online and social media platforms to reach those who have questions regarding the Bible, faith, and life in general. From our Connect series, to the Freaks of the Vine podcast, video outreaches entitled Sword and the Lamptstand and “Transatlantic,” he is always seeking to connect with people. He also teaches a Young Adults class, Apologetics class, Discipleship Training and New Attendees class entitled Discovering HHCC.

Pastor Patrick is married to Chellie, and they have a blended family of 3 adult children, and one granddaughter.

Nancy Christian, Administrative Assistant

Nancy has served as the Administrative Assistant for HHCC since 2000. A Jill of all trades and master of none describes Nancy. She is supervisor of the office, church buyer, bookkeeper, and worship coordinator. Nancy works closely with the pastoral staff on worship experiences for Sunday and special services during the year. Nancy and husband, Don, live 5 minutes from the church on a family farm. They have 2 adult children with spouses and seven grandkids. Nancy works part time so that she can enjoy the grandchildren and family activities.

Jackie Gardner, Secretary

Jackie began working as Secretary at HHCC in April 2024. A 20-year member of HHCC, she has been involved in many ministries over the years: Fellowship Team, Children’s Ministry, Missions Team, (current board member for Doorstep, past board member of Jars of Clay). Jackie is married to Elder Guy Gardner (in June they celebrated 33 years of marriage). They are both instrumental in our homeless outreach called “Lunch with Jesus.” Guy and Jackie have two grown children, Anthony and Emily. Guy and Jackie reside in Berryton, Ks.

Jacque Gilbert, Children’s Ministry Director

Jacque coordinates and supervises the classes, programs, and events for the children at HHCC! In addition, she also organizes our annual VBS as well as our Harvest Festival. She is a retired teacher with 44 years experience. Jacque has a daughter and 4 grandchildren. She enjoys going to their school and extra-curricular events. A native of Kentucky, Jacque still has her southern accent even though she has lived in Kansas now for about 40 years!

Gage Casey

Gage has been working on a multitude of jobs from Web Design to Video Editing, from IT to Teaching. He is currently the A/V director and IT manager at HHCC. He started off as our first intern that quickly turned into a more permanent position. As he began to grow he would enroll of CLI taking classes to become a Pastor. He is married to Mindy Casey and has 2 wonderful step-children, Claire and Aeris.

Don Christian

Don Christian and his wife, Nancy, live in Tecumseh. They have a son, Andrew and a daughter, Amy, and they have seven grandchildren. Don is retired from a long career in Pharmaceuticals and is working part time with Stormont Vail Hospital. Don enjoys gardening, tinkering on their "farm" and loves studying God's word. One of his spiritual gifts is teaching and he teaches "The Pathfinders" class at 10:00 Sunday mornings and leads a Life Together Small Group on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Highland Heights is family!

Guy Gardner

Guy Gardner and his wife Jackie have two (adult) children, Anthony and Emily. Guy and his family have been members of the church for over 25 years. Guy and Jackie oversee the HHCC Missions Team. Anthony is a Target Manager in Salina KS. Emily is a music Teacher in the Shawnee Heights School District. Emily plays the violin and helps with praise band. Guy works for the county and Jackie works for the church and several outreach programs serving the community in need. Guy and Jackie love the church body and want everyone to find their fit with the church.

John Johnson

John and Barbara Johnson were married in 2005 and have a blended family with four adult children and 7 grandchildren. John has lived in Topeka since 1981. He retired from being a distributor for Little Debbie snacks in 2021, right before becoming an elder. John has led the HHCC Foundations Class, Emcees our Triva night, and currently leads a Men's Bible class on Wednesday days.

John and Barbara started attending Highland Heights Christian Church in 2018. Prior to John becoming an Elder, both he and his wife were Deacon’s within the Church. Barbara is our Hands of Mercy Coordinator. John enjoys woodworking and studying God's word. John is on the Fellowship and Missions teams at HHCC. He is also involved in helping with a variety of maintenance projects as a Handyman Helper.
